![]() ![]() ![]() With fixed camera angles, you're wholly reliant on the volume of the jangly music that plays when the Ayuwoki is near, which adds to the suspense and terror. With the original game, you could see directly in front of you and turn around to see in any direction. If you found the original game hard, this is even harder. So it's not a new storyline (it's still the original protagonist waking up in a dark mansion), but what the game does change is that it adds an inventory system (you can carry up to four items, but each item has a weight value, so you could carry less if the items are too heavy), new puzzles, and, according to the Discord community, some new areas, but as I've only played the first chapter so far, I can't confirm myself. I wanted to get that out there as some people have been confused by what a 'demake' is. Just to be really clear, this is the original Escape the Ayuwoki Steam game in third-person, with fixed camera angles and deliberately pixellated graphics, reminiscent of 90s PSX survival horror. In Chapter 3+ I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. As someone who often gives up and moves on when I die a lot, this game had me gripped like King Kong's fist. In spite of this, the suspense was killing me at some points. Had so much fun! I'd say you get kind of used to the jumpscares after a while, since the demake seems a lot harder than the original game - it's on par with a souls-like with how often you die. Only downside at the moment is that there's some bugs which make it difficult to progress, but comparing to the developers other games, they will likely fix this very quickly, so I'd still recommend getting this game.ĮDIT: Just finished the game, I'd say 90% of the bugs mentioned before have been fixed, there's a few minor ones but nothing game breaking. Really scary game with great jumpscares, similar to Devour where it's full screen and loud, 10/10 I fall out my chair every time. They've done a great job capturing the essence of 90s gaming, down to the controls, fixed camera angles and graphics. I highly recommend this game if you're into old school horror. Just like other horror games, your objective here is to be able to escape by finding the key that would unlock the mansion’s door-that is, if you are able to survive long enough.Escape the Ayuwoki DEMAKE, is a popular steam game developed by Escape the Ayuwoki DEMAKE. Like what has been mentioned above, it is based on a Creepypasta that has been lurking around the Internet that tells of a creepy Michael Jackson look-alike that’s fond of visiting people in the dead of the night. ![]() It is also not the kind of monster you might be expecting-because instead of flaring nostrils, a big and muscular body, and sharp horns, the creature that is out to get you honestly looks ten times more frightening. Straight out of your nightmaresĪs if white ladies and ghosts are not scary enough, this game will send a monster running after you. Escaping the Awuyoki can be tricky, though, because this villain moves at top speed. To get a temporary reprieve, you can hide behind furniture or objects when you hear a wonky soundtrack that sounds eerily like Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal. As with its originator, the Awuyoki in this game appears with little notice to make you scared witless. The Creepypasta nightmare becomes a reality in this horror game. You will need to be aware of the Awuyoki. While the mechanics may be nothing new, the game developers added a twist that will disturbingly remind you of a villain that has been making rounds online. To find the key, you will have to complete different tasks and puzzles. The objective of the game is to find a red key hidden somewhere in the house and use it on the main gate to escape. The story of the game revolves around the player being kidnapped and locked up in a creepy old mansion.
